Forward Planning?
I had it worked out so well!
The painters were going to start on Monday, and then the solar heating lads were due to come next tuesday, giving me time to clear the room out. The painters came promptly on Monday morning and started painting, then on Tuesday morning I got a phone call from the solar people asking if they could come on Wednesday to take out the old cylinder and start on the pipework, and foolishly I said Yes.
So I spent most of yesterday in a panic, moviing boxes of books and games and tapes and CDs and old computers and bags of old clothes and other treasures out of the room and the contents are now scattered all over the house. The poor cat got fed up of being chased from one room to another and ended up sleeping on the stairs!
However, they are doing a very good job, and have already made a lot of progress. They got the old cylinder out without having to damage the framework,
and they have removed the old radiator upstairs, where the new tank is going, and have installed nice little one under the window, ready for when it becomes MY bathroom!
They also took up most of the floorboards.
They got on so quickly that tomorrow they are bringing the new tank, so we may even manage to get the hot water back on before the weeekend!
