On Thursday we had the water turned off almost all day and they took lots more floorboards up,
and brought lots more plastic tubing and copper pipes. On Friday they fitted them all in somewhere under the floorboards!
We now have a big solar hot water tank with lots of holes in the corner of what will be the new airing cupboard.
They connected it up yesterday, and rerouted the mains water to supply the bath and shower, which were the only taps still using water from the overhead tank (but we still won’t have any hot water until Monday, when the solar panels will be coming!)
The painters have finished painting the outside woodwork.
We have kept to the same colour scheme that we had when we first came,
Buckingham green 
for the doors and window frames, and cream for the sash windows.
My washing machine has come back from the repair shop at last - it is working perfectly and it is so quiet!
