More plumbing and a very cold house
The new shower unit arrived on Friday afternoon. Didn’t get the one I originally wanted as they had run out and wouldn’t have any more till mid December, so ended up ordering the more expensive one with a thermostatic shower. We were planning to go and collect the cloakroom suite on Saturday morning. However before we left I thought I had better check that our local B&Q had the stuff in stock - they had always had plenty every time I had previously checked but today they informed me that thay had completely run out of the ones I wanted and our nearest shop was in Oldham.
Did a quick search on the internet and found a set almost the same at Homebase, so we called in on out way to the supermarket. Unfortunately the store has still ben not restocked since the floods (?) and they had nothing there at all apart from the display models. Came home feeling really p’d off, and had another look through the yellow pages.
Finally found a huge bathroom suppliers just down the road, and persuaded Bill to take me there (luckily there was footie on the radio, so I left him in the car whilst I went on a hunt for suitably small sanitary fittings. Bingo! They had just what wanted and it was on special offfer, so worked out cheaper in the end that B&Q even though I chose a more expensive tap.
The plumbers arrived this morning and have turned the heating off as they are reconnecting the boiler to the hot water tank. The house is freezing! I kept warm this morning by doing piles of washing up, but I am now sitting here shivering even though I am wearing my fleece. I wonder what I can make for tea that will give me an excuse to put the oven on!
